Received an update from Dustin Corcoran, CEO, California Medical Association, regarding the Protect Access to Healthcare Ballot Initiative, the MCO tax and efforts to increase Medi-Cal rates for physicians.
Approved the 2022 Audit Report.
Approved the 2023 Nominating Committee Report listing the 2024 slate of officers and delegation members. The report will be sent to all Active members who may submit additional nominations for any vacancy in any office listed on the report.
Approved the Scholarship and Awards Committee recommendations for 2023 medical student scholarships.
Approved the recommendations from the Scholarship and Awards Committee for revisions to SSVMS Awards. The recommendations included the following: Making the nomination process year-round and increasing marketing and visibility of the awards; creating the Community Impact Award (replaces the Medical Honor Award), the Excellence in Advocacy Award and the Outstanding Medical Society Volunteer Award. The Golden Stethoscope Award, the Society’s highest honor, will be maintained.
Approved a resolution to be submitted to the California Medical Association calling for a policy against physician mistreatment in health care settings.
